HLSC COVID Guidelines

Guide Dates are subject to change:

These guidelines have been put in place by the COVID Committee, based on Government Guidelines, RYA advice and consideration of the size and layout of the Club and Grounds.

No earlier than March 8th

The first part of the easing is to allow for recreational activities to take place, along with exercise.  Whilst this is a degree of easing, the restriction on movement and other restrictions on access remaining in place, this still means that the club will not be able to allow sailing to re-start.

Allowed :

  • Access to the Dinghy Park is allowed, subject to local travel only.

Social Distancing is still in place, so close contact is to be avoided.

Not Allowed :

  • Sailing
  • Access to the Clubhouse and inside facilities.
  • Bar and Galley remain closed.

Note :

There will be ongoing work taking place on the Clubhouse Roof, which will require vehicular access to the building throughout this time.  Internal remedial work is also required to the building so there will be people accessing the building for this purpose only.

No earlier than March 29th

This is the second part of easing and it is this point where we can start the sailing.  Two Households/ groups of 6 is permissible.

Allowed :

  • Sailing
  • Race Box Access
  • Downstairs Toilet only
  • COVID Safe sailing with one other person
  • Groups of 6, or two households
  • Minimised Travel
  • Emergency Access to the Changing Rooms

Not Allowed :

  • Access to the Clubhouse except where mentioned above.
  • Bar and Galley remain closed.

No earlier than April 12th

There is a further easing of restrictions, Outside Hospitality is allowed with restrictions.  Whilst travel is again eased the restrictions of the Dinghy Park size and Club Frontage to the water it has been decided to keep the club COVID safe that Open Meetings will not be held within this period.

Allowed :

  • Bar may open outside only, with restrictions
  • Sailing
  • Race Box
  • COVID Safe sailing with one other person
  • Limited Access to the Changing Rooms, after sailing only if required.
  • Groups of 6, or two households
  • Travel outside your local area
  • Self Contained Holiday Accomodation

Not Allowed :

  • Access to the Clubhouse lounge and Bar Area

Latest Changing Room guidance

No earlier than May 17th

 This is where the restrictions are eased enough to allow larger groups to meet outside, along with restricted indoor access, so from this point the club will consider hosting open meetings under COVID safe guidelines.

Allowed :

  • Bar may open inside and outside, with restrictions
  • Sailing
  • Race Box
  • COVID Safe sailing with one other person
  • Limited Access to the Changing Rooms, after sailing only if required.
  • Groups of 6, or two households
  • Travel outside your local area
  • Internal Access to the building with COVID safe restrictions in place

Not Allowed :

  • Seating Restrictions

No earlier than June 21st

This is the final stage of the easing where all restrictions are removed

Allowed :

  • Everything within the Law!

Not Allowed :

  • Everything Illegal!
